Life without music. Could you imagine? What would you listen to while you drive, clean, or workout? What would I do with my time. Incase you couldn't tell by the picture, I'm really into the whole music scene. My band and I have played at countless venues. Anyways, not important. I am trying to capture what it would be like in life, in general, without music. I know studies have shown that music calms and heightens emotions, so it's interesting to think about what life would be like without music. This could sound crazy, but life without music could be somewhat parallel to life WITH music. If you think about it, some music helps people negate angry emotions and helps them find their center of self. While on the other hand, some music promotes anger and can influence people to do... interesting things. If you take away both of those instances, we would have a medium; just like we do now. Off the topic of mediums, if we didn't have music, people would lose a connection with other people. (Also, car rides with other people would be very awkward.)
There are just so many different types of music that it is hard to imagine all of it to just not exist. Heh, you gotta think about how deaf people feel. They live like that every day...
A society with NO music would be catastrophic, if you ask me. Musical instruments wouldn't exist; nothing. It's like disemboweling a huge chunk of culture. Not fun, huh?
